Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Michael began skating at the age of three and went on to play high school hockey before honorably serving in the U.S. Navy for over seven years (2010–2017). After completing his military service, he earned both a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Regent University.

After completing his military service, he earned both a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Regent University.
Michael’s coaching career began in 2015, where he has worked with players across a wide spectrum of age groups—from 8U to 16U—as well as with travel and elite tournament teams. With experience coaching athletes at all competitive levels, from A to AAA, he is committed to helping players refine their skills, realize their potential, and compete at the highest levels. Michael places a strong emphasis on providing athletes with the exposure and support necessary to advance to the next stage of their hockey careers

Originally from Annapolis, Maryland, Coach Reed combines a competitive hockey background with over 15 years of leadership experience as an active-duty member of the U.S. Navy. This unique foundation allows him to instill elite levels of accountability, mental resilience, and discipline in every athlete he mentors.

A USA Hockey Level 4 certified coach with 11 years of experience ranging from 8U to 16U, Coach Reed currently coaches with the Hampton Roads Whalers. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Excelsior University (2024), reflecting his personal commitment to continuous growth.
His coaching philosophy at RedLine Hockey focuses on developing the mental toughness and competitive habits required for the highest levels of play. A dedicated husband and father of three, Coach Reed is committed to building the character and "championship mindset" necessary for success both on and off the ice.
